EEG at this clinic

We perform routine EEG and sleep-deprived EEG at this clinic. GPs and specialists can refer directly for EEG, and a neurology consultation is not required first. Reports for routine and sleep-deprived EEGs are typically sent to the referring doctor within 5 business days.

Prolonged EEG, ambulatory EEG and home video-EEG are set up at our Box Hill clinic. See EEG services for how to prepare.

What is an EEG?

An electroencephalogram (EEG) records the electrical activity of the brain using electrodes placed on the scalp. It is painless and non-invasive, and it is one of the most important tests in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy and seizures.

Seeing a neurologist

Our Bendigo clinic is an EEG clinic. Neurology consultations are available by telehealth anywhere in Australia, or in person at Box Hill. First seizure referrals are usually seen within 1–2 weeks through our First Seizure Clinic.
